About the Phillipe Starck Pratfall Chair

As the name suggests, Phillipe Starck's Pratfall Chair was designed to reduce the chance of waiters tripping in cafes by lowering the number of structural legs. This story shows Starck's sense of humour, something clear in the unusual three-legged design, but the chair does actually use space extremely efficiently. It declutters the construction of the traditional chair. With a high-quality finish, our VOGA version perfectly reproduces the slight angle of the seat and flawless curved back. Now you can experience its reclining comfort in a living room or home office.

The story behind the Phillipe Starck Pratfall Chair

Starck is renowned for combining a very personal approach with an avant garde sense of humour. His work varies widely and constantly defies expectations. Unusually, the Pratfall is a slightly smaller variation on the Costes Chair and refines that pieces' subtle detailing and tubular geometry. Originally designed for the Café Costes in Paris, these chairs continue to be adored around the world.
